The Halvessa is a ring chandelier that gathers six glowing alabaster globes around one slim black circle. Each globe holds its own integrated LED, so there are no bulbs to buy or change, and the light passes through the stone and brings out its veining in soft creams and whites. The colour temperature is 2700K, a warm white that feels relaxed in the evening, and the CRI is 80+, a sound everyday level for showing colours faithfully. The ring is 70cm across and the chandelier has a drop of 180cm, which gives it real presence over a table or in the centre of a generous room.

At that size we think it is happiest in a dining room, centred over a round or oval table so all six globes can be seen from every chair. It works as well in a living room, a wide hallway or a stairwell with ceiling height to spare. It is not dimmable, so it runs from an ordinary on and off switch rather than a dimmer, which suits anyone who wants one steady, warm level of light. The fitting is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The maker states it is for indoor use only.

The ring is iron in a black finish, a crisp outline that leaves the alabaster to carry the colour and texture. Each of the six lights runs at 4.5W, and the fitting carries an energy class of E. It is a mains fitting, for a qualified electrician to install.
