Our Halvessa floor lamp holds two alabaster globes on a slim black iron frame. The frame is a tall inverted U rising from a round base, with one globe sitting on top of it and the other hanging just beneath its top bar. When lit, the alabaster glows a soft creamy white and its veining shows through. The light is integrated LED: two lights of 4.5W each, giving 270 lumens at a warm 2700K with a CRI of 80 or more, and there is no bulb to buy or change. The lamp comes in two sizes, 114cm tall and 193cm tall.

The 114cm lamp suits a bedside, the end of a sofa or a reading chair, where a lower glow feels close and calm. The 193cm lamp stands taller than most people, so it fits a living room corner, a landing or the space beside a bookcase, lifting the light up the wall. At 270 lumens the light is gentle rather than bright, and we would choose it for evening mood lighting rather than as the main light in a room or for close desk work.
