The Flat Twin Switch Wall Light with Reading Light is a slim rectangular iron wall light that puts two lights in one fitting. The flat panel takes one E27 bulb that washes a soft glow onto the wall around its edges, and a slim cylindrical reading light with an integrated LED is set at an angle near the lower corner. The E27 bulb is not included, so you choose your own, while the reading light needs no bulb at all: it gives 3W and 260 lumens of warm 3000K light, with a colour rendering index of 80 or more. The fitting is 35cm tall and 20cm wide, projects 12cm from the wall, and comes in white or black.

With a reading light of its own, this is a wall light made for the bedside. Put one on each side of a bed and each of you has a light for a book, while the main light glows softly against the wall. It sits just as happily beside a reading chair in a sitting room or over a desk in a study. Mounted on the wall, it leaves the bedside table free for a book and a glass of water. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The maker states it is for indoor use only.

The body is made of iron, finished in white or black, and the design is by Josep Novell and Ernest Perera. It has a twin switch. The fitting is not dimmable, so it is not for use with a dimmer, and it carries energy class F. As a mains fitting, it is for a qualified electrician to install. The white version melts into a pale wall so only the glow and the reading light stand out, while the black version draws a crisp graphic outline; either looks right with plain bedding and a simple headboard.
