Description
The Faronne glass chandelier pairs soft white opal glass shades with a black iron frame, and we sell it in three versions: 3 lights, 9 lights and 15 lights. Each shade is a rounded barrel shape in opal glass that spreads the light from its bulb into an even, gentle glow, and each sits on a slim black arm branching from a central stem. The 3-light version is 35cm tall and 57cm across, the 9-light version is 83cm tall and 107cm across, and the 15-light version is 114cm tall and 107cm across. All three hang on a 250cm drop. Each light takes an E27 bulb, and the bulbs are not included, so you can choose the warmth and brightness that suit your room.
This is a chandelier for rooms with the height and space to let it breathe: over a dining table, in a hallway or stairwell with a high ceiling, or at the centre of a generous living room. The 3-light version, at 57cm across, suits a smaller dining table or a cosy sitting room, while the 9-light and 15-light versions, both 107cm across, are scaled for a long table or a large open room. The maker states it is for indoor use only. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The black frame and white glass sit as happily in a modern scheme as in a period room or a loft with exposed beams.
The frame is iron in a black finish and the shades are opal glass, so it reads crisp and graphic against a pale ceiling and softens once lit. As a mains fitting, it is for a qualified electrician to install. We like it centred over the table, with the black frame echoed by a few other dark metal details in the room.
