Description
The Faronne glass chandelier comes in three light counts: 3 lights, 9 lights and 15 lights, all in a white finish. Each light sits inside a soft, barrel-shaped shade of opal glass, carried on curving arms of white-finished iron. Opal glass spreads the light into an even, gentle glow rather than a hard point of brightness. The 3-light chandelier is 35cm tall and 57cm across, the 9-light is 83cm tall and 107cm across, and the 15-light is 114cm tall and 107cm across. All three have a drop of 250cm. Each light takes an E27 bulb and lamps are not included, so you choose the bulbs and the colour of light that suits your room.
We think of the Faronne chandelier for a dining room, a living room, a landing or an entrance hall, anywhere a soft central light earns its place. The 3-light version, at 57cm across, sits comfortably over a dining table or in a smaller living room. The 9-light and 15-light versions are both 107cm across, and suit larger rooms with generous ceiling height, such as a long dining room or a double-height hallway, where their size has room to breathe. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The maker states it is for indoor use only.
The frame is iron with a white finish and the shades are opal glass, so the whole fitting reads as one pale, softly rounded shape, with the curving arms giving it a relaxed, friendly character. Because each light uses a standard E27 lamp holder, swapping a bulb is simple. As a mains fitting, it is for a qualified electrician to install. For styling, we like it in a room with warm wood and plain walls, where the white frame and glowing glass keep the look light and calm; against a deep painted wall it stands out clearly.
