Description
The Delano cushion carries a raised lattice worked in jacquard, a weave that builds its pattern into the cloth itself rather than printing it on top. The face reads as an interlocking geometric of chevrons and diamonds, with some facets picked out in a plush velvet pile and others left in a flatter woven ground, so light catches the design differently as you move past it. It measures 40 by 60cm, a lumbar shape that sits longer than it is tall, and it is made from 100% polyester throughout.
This is a cushion for a sofa back or the head of a bed, where a longer rectangle does the work of a bolster without the firmness of one. The ivory and taupe palette stays quiet, so it settles against grey, stone and other neutral upholstery rather than competing with it, and the textured face gives a plain sofa something to look at. Set it against a velvet armchair or layer it in front of larger square cushions where the low, wide format fills the gap a square leaves.
The reverse is a soft velvet in a plain matching tone, so the cushion works either way up, and the front is finished with an oxford border, the flat fabric edge that frames the pattern. A hidden zip closure runs along one edge for a clean, uninterrupted face and lets you take the cover off. Being polyester, the cloth is hard-wearing and resists staining, which suits a cushion that gets leaned on and moved about. It is one of several designs in our wider Delano range.

Frequently Asked
What is a jacquard weave and how is it different from a print?
Jacquard means the pattern is woven directly into the fabric on the loom, so the geometric design is built from the cloth itself rather than printed on the surface, which gives it depth and durability.
Can I take the cover off this cushion?
Yes, there is a hidden zip along one edge, so you can remove the cover for cleaning or to swap it out, and the zip is tucked away so it does not interrupt the face.
What size is this cushion and what does it suit?
It measures 40 by 60cm, a lumbar rectangle that sits longer than it is tall, which makes it well suited to a sofa back or the head of a bed for lower-back support.
What does the reverse look like?
The back is a plain soft velvet in a matching tone, so the cushion looks finished from either side and you can turn it to show pattern or plain as you prefer.
Is polyester a good choice for a cushion that gets used?
Polyester is hard-wearing and does not stain easily, which makes it a practical face for a cushion that gets leaned on, moved between seats and handled every day.
