Description

The AV:Link fibre optic Toslink splitter takes one optical digital audio input and splits it to two optical outputs simultaneously, allowing a single source device to send audio to two separate receivers. The splitter uses standard Toslink (optical SPDIF) connections with gold-plated tips on all three ports — one input and two outputs.

Designed for home cinema and audio setups where one source needs to feed multiple destinations, the splitter handles common scenarios such as sending TV audio to both a soundbar and a wireless headphone transmitter, or routing a Blu-ray player's audio to an AV receiver and a separate recording device at the same time. The unit requires no external power and passes the digital audio signal through passively.

The compact housing measures 220mm long including the attached input cable, with the splitter body itself at 45mm wide and 15mm deep. At 26g the unit can be cable-tied behind a TV or tucked into an equipment rack without adding weight or bulk. The black matte finish blends into typical AV setups and the unit is CE and UKCA certified for UK sale.

Frequently Asked

Does the splitter need external power?

No. The splitter is a passive device that splits the optical signal without requiring mains power or batteries. It draws no power and simply divides the incoming digital audio stream to both outputs.

Can both outputs be used at the same time?

Yes. The splitter sends the same digital audio signal to both outputs simultaneously, so you can connect two devices and both will receive the audio feed at the same time.

What audio formats does it support?

The splitter passes through standard optical SPDIF audio formats including stereo PCM, Dolby Digital, and DTS. It does not decode or convert audio — it simply splits the digital signal as received from the source.

What devices can be connected?

Any device with a Toslink optical output can be used as the source (TVs, Blu-ray players, games consoles, CD players, projectors). Any device with a Toslink optical input can be connected as a receiver (soundbars, AV receivers, headphone transmitters, digital recorders).
