Description

The AV:Link 2-way SCART splitter connects two analogue video sources to a single SCART input on a TV or display. A manual rocker switch on the housing selects which source feeds the output, allowing you to switch between a VCR, DVD player, Freeview box or other analogue device without unplugging cables each time.

Designed for homes and offices still using legacy analogue equipment, the splitter suits scenarios where drawer space or shelf access makes swapping cables impractical. The 50cm lead from the splitter housing to the TV-side SCART plug allows the switch box to sit on a shelf or the floor near the devices rather than hanging directly from the TV socket. Both input sockets on the housing are female 21-pin SCART.

The housing measures approximately 90mm x 60mm x 25mm and weighs 105g, so it sits stable on a shelf without tipping when cables are inserted. The rocker switch is labelled 1 and 2 to indicate which source is active. The splitter is passive — it requires no external power and simply routes the selected input's composite video, RGB and stereo audio signals to the output.

Frequently Asked

Can both sources be connected at the same time?

Yes. Both SCART inputs can remain connected permanently. The manual rocker switch selects which source is routed to the TV output at any given time.

Does it require power?

No. The splitter is a passive switch box that routes analogue signals mechanically when you flip the rocker switch. No mains adapter or batteries are needed.

Does it support RGB and composite video?

Yes. The 21-pin SCART connection carries RGB, composite video and stereo audio signals. The splitter passes whichever signal format the connected source device sends.

Can it be used in reverse to send one source to two TVs?

No. The AV:Link is designed as an input selector, not a signal distributor. Using it in reverse may result in poor picture quality or no signal on one or both outputs.
