Description

The Zoom is an 85mm surface-mounted downlight in matt black aluminium with a cylindrical body and a recessed lamp aperture that directs light downwards. The fitting takes a GU10 bulb (sold separately) up to 50W and carries an IP65 rating, making it suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, covered outdoor areas and anywhere moisture or dust ingress is a concern.

Surface mounting means the Zoom installs onto the ceiling surface rather than being recessed into it, avoiding the need to cut ceiling voids or fit deeper back boxes. The 115mm height projects from the ceiling, with the majority of that height formed by the cylindrical aluminium body. The fitting attaches to a standard ceiling rose or junction box and the GU10 lampholder sits inside the downward-facing aperture.

The matt black finish on the aluminium body resists corrosion and provides a low-glare surface that works in industrial, contemporary and minimalist interiors. The IP65 rating confirms full dust ingress protection and protection against water jets from any direction, so the fitting can be used in Zone 2 bathroom areas (outside the immediate shower enclosure) and on covered patios or porches where rain splash occurs. The 85mm diameter keeps the visual footprint compact on the ceiling plane.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP65 rating makes the Zoom suitable for bathroom Zone 2 areas (at least 600mm away from the shower head or bath tap). It should not be installed directly inside a shower enclosure or above a bath where it would be in Zone 1 or Zone 0.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a GU10 bulb up to 50W. GU10 LED bulbs are widely available in wattages between 4W and 7W, providing equivalent light output to a 35-50W halogen while drawing far less power. Bulbs are sold separately.

Does it come with a bulb?

No. The Zoom is supplied as a fitting only. GU10 bulbs are sold separately and can be selected based on your preferred colour temperature and brightness.

Can it be installed outdoors?

The IP65 rating allows outdoor installation in covered or sheltered locations such as porches, covered patios, or under eaves where the fitting is protected from direct rainfall. It should not be installed in fully exposed positions where standing water can collect around the fitting.
