Description
The Zonas is a 120x160cm acrylic painting built around a hand-layered grid of irregular rectangular blocks in matte sage green, dusty rose, ivory, muted charcoal and grey tones, punctuated by gold-leaf accents. The paint is applied in varying thicknesses across the canvas, creating raised edges and recessed areas that shift the composition depending on viewing angle and natural light.
Designed for living room feature walls, above sofas or sideboards, and in hallways or landing areas with wall space of 2m or greater, the Zonas pairs abstract geometry with a restrained earth-tone palette that works across minimalist, contemporary and Japandi-style interiors. The 160cm vertical orientation suits walls with higher ceilings or where a taller focal point balances horizontal furniture lines.
The painting is built on a 4cm-deep stretched canvas frame that projects from the wall, giving the piece physical presence without needing a separate outer frame. The gold-leaf detailing catches ambient light at different intensities throughout the day, warming the overall tone. At 1.52kg the canvas is light enough for standard picture hooks on plasterboard walls but benefits from dual-point hanging to keep the frame level.
Each Zonas painting is hand-finished by Schuller artisans in Spain, so minor variations in paint thickness, block edge definition and gold-leaf placement occur between pieces. The matte finish on the majority of the surface reduces glare under direct lighting, while the small areas of gold provide controlled reflectivity.

Frequently Asked
What wall space is needed for the Zonas?
The painting measures 120cm wide by 160cm tall. It works best on walls with at least 2m of clear vertical space, positioned centrally above a sofa or sideboard, or as a standalone piece in hallways and landings. Allow 20-30cm of clear space on each side for visual balance.
Is the painting framed?
No separate frame is included. The canvas is stretched over a 4cm-deep wooden frame that projects from the wall, creating a gallery-wrapped finish. The painted surface continues around the edges of the frame, so no additional framing is required.
How is it hung?
The canvas includes a hanging wire or D-rings on the reverse. At 1.52kg it can be hung on standard picture hooks, but dual-point hanging (two hooks spaced across the width) is recommended to keep the frame level and reduce stress on the canvas corners.
Do the colours vary between pieces?
Yes. Each Zonas painting is hand-finished in Spain, so minor variations in paint layering, block edge definition and gold-leaf placement occur. The overall composition and colour palette remain consistent, but individual paintings are not identical.
