Description

The Schuller Zigzag is a 100cm vertical wall light built around two parallel aluminium arms in matt black, each fitted with integrated LED strips behind opal silicone diffusers. The 26W LED system outputs 3000K warm white light through the diffusers and from side-mounted spotlights, providing both ambient wall-washing and directed accent light from a single fitting.

Designed for modern residential and commercial interiors where vertical wall space is available, the Zigzag suits hallways, stairwells, bedroom feature walls, and living spaces where a floor lamp would not fit. The 100cm height gives the fitting architectural presence on a wall while the 15cm width and 6cm projection keep it compact enough for circulation routes. The dual-arm configuration creates layered light — soft diffused light from the opal strips and harder directional light from the side-mounted elements.

The aluminium construction keeps the weight to 0.75kg despite the 1m height, making the fitting suitable for plasterboard walls with correct fixings. The matt black finish is non-reflective, which prevents glare when the light is viewed from an angle and allows the fitting to visually recede against dark walls. The opal diffusers soften the LED point sources and distribute the light evenly along the length of each arm, avoiding hotspots.

The Zigzag is IP20 rated for indoor use only and runs on 220-240V mains. The integrated LED is non-replaceable but rated for 25,000+ hours at typical domestic usage levels. The fixture is Class 1 earthed and requires installation by a qualified electrician.

Is the Zigzag dimmable?

The integrated LED requires a compatible trailing-edge LED dimmer on the mains circuit. Not all dimmers work with integrated LED wall lights — confirm compatibility with your electrician before installation or contact us for dimmer recommendations.

What wall fixings are needed?

The 0.75kg weight means the Zigzag can be fixed to plasterboard with appropriate hollow-wall anchors or directly to masonry with screws and rawlplugs. The backplate should be fixed at multiple points to distribute the load evenly along the 100cm height.

Can it be installed outdoors or in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the Zigzag is for dry indoor locations only — not suitable for bathrooms, covered outdoor areas, or anywhere with moisture exposure.

What's the light output like?

The 26W LED outputs warm 3000K light through opal diffusers and side-mounted spots. The specification lists 1.8lm which appears to be a data error — expect output closer to 1,800-2,000lm based on typical 26W LED performance. The diffusers create soft wall-washing light rather than focused task light.
