This is the Winter Warmest Wishes cushion, a 50 x 50cm square worked in cotton velvet with a raised embroidered design. The face carries the words 'Warmest Christmas Wishes' in a flowing script, framed by leaves, holly and starbursts stitched in white against a soft natural beige velvet ground. The embroidery stands proud of the velvet, so the pattern catches the light and reads as texture as much as colour, which is what gives the front its handmade feel up close.
