Velos II LED Table Lamp 12W 3000K - Rose Gold

The Velos II is a 12W LED table lamp built around a single folded sheet of micro-printed methacrylate, held in place by a rose gold metallic profile running the height of one edge. The methacrylate is moulded into angular planes that resemble folded paper, and the LED strip integrated inside the profile casts 600lm of 3000K light through the translucent material, turning the entire surface into a glowing diffuser.

Designed for desks, bedside tables and console surfaces in contemporary interiors, the Velos II functions as both ambient light and sculptural object. The 35cm width and 50cm height suit standard bedside tables and desk corners without dominating the surface, while the folded form creates visible depth and shadow when lit. The lamp is dimmable, allowing output to be adjusted between soft background glow and functional task light depending on the dimmer used.

The micro-printed methacrylate has a fine textured surface that breaks up the light as it passes through, preventing harsh glare and creating a diffuse wash across nearby walls and surfaces. The rose gold profile contrasts with the cool translucence of the methacrylate, adding warmth to the colour palette without overpowering the material. The lamp weighs 1.73kg and sits flat on the base plane formed by the folded methacrylate, requiring no additional stand or plinth.

The Velos II operates on low-voltage 12/24V supply via an external transformer (included), making it safer to position near desks and beds where hands or objects may contact the lamp body. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments.

Is the Velos II dimmable?

Yes. The integrated 12W LED is dimmable when paired with a compatible low-voltage dimmer or dimmer module. Dimmer compatibility depends on the transformer and dimmer model — contact us if unsure which dimmer to use.

What is methacrylate?

Methacrylate is a lightweight thermoplastic similar to acrylic, moulded into shape under heat. The micro-printed surface on the Velos II diffuses light evenly and prevents the material from looking flat or glass-like when lit.

Does the lamp get hot to touch?

The LED operates at low voltage and generates minimal heat. The methacrylate surface stays cool enough to touch during operation, making it safe for bedside use and desks where the lamp may be handled while lit.

Can it be used on a desk as task lighting?

The Velos II is primarily ambient lighting — the 600lm output diffused across the entire methacrylate surface provides soft general light rather than focused task light. It works well as supplementary desk lighting paired with a directional task lamp.
