Description

The Schuller Twist is a 45cm LED table lamp built around a continuous spiral of brushed gold-finished metal, wrapped in an opal silicone diffuser. The integrated 12W LED runs along the twisted form, casting 850lm of warm 3000K light through the opal silicone, which softens the output and turns the entire spiral into a diffused light source rather than a point source.

Designed for console tables, dining sideboards, bedroom nightstands and contemporary office desks, the Twist provides ambient and decorative light rather than task light. The 16cm base diameter and 45cm vertical profile give the lamp a sculptural presence without requiring significant surface area. The spiral form adds vertical rhythm to horizontal surfaces and pairs well with low-slung furniture and clean-lined interiors.

The brushed gold finish provides a warm metallic accent that sits between polished brass and antique brass in tone, with a low-sheen surface that minimises reflections. The opal silicone diffuser is flexible rather than rigid glass, which allows the LED to follow the spiral path without breaking the form. The lamp operates on 24V via an included transformer, drawing 12W at 50/60Hz and producing a CRI of greater than 80.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the spiral structure and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of use, which equates to over 10 years at 6 hours per day.

Can it be used as task lighting?

The Twist is designed as ambient and decorative lighting rather than task lighting. The opal diffuser spreads the 850lm output evenly along the spiral, creating a soft glow rather than directed light suitable for reading or detailed work.

What transformer is included?

The lamp includes a UK mains transformer that converts 230V mains to the 24V DC required by the LED. The transformer connects between the lamp and the wall socket.

Is the brushed gold finish lacquered?

Schuller typically applies a protective lacquer over brushed metal finishes to prevent tarnishing and oxidation. Clean with a dry microfibre cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the lacquer.
