Description

A single narrow spotlight with a slim cylindrical body in a soft sand gold, this one throws a tight, controlled beam rather than a broad wash. The LED is built in and draws 7W, giving 560 lumens of warm white light with strong colour rendering, so timber, paint and fabric all read true under it. The driver is supplied with the fitting. It is not a dimming light, so it belongs on a circuit where full output is what you are after.

We reach for a small spot like this where light needs to land on something in particular: a painting, a run of open shelving, a worktop, a group of glass or ceramics. At around 11cm tall the body stays discreet enough to sit in a line of several without crowding the ceiling, and the warm tone keeps living rooms, hallways and dining spaces comfortable rather than clinical. Think dry, heated interiors; a sitting room or kitchen suits it, an open porch or a shower area does not.

The sand gold is a matt, lightly grained gold rather than a bright polish, which keeps glare off the body when the fitting sits in your eyeline. Wipe the outside occasionally with a dry cloth, and if the lens gathers dust a soft brush is kinder to it than anything damp. Switch the circuit off and let the head cool before you go near it. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the same body in sand black and sand white, and the range runs to a shorter head in this diameter plus a slimmer, lower output version for tighter groupings, so a full scheme can be kept in one family across a whole floor.
