Description

This is a small directional spot with a deep, slim body and a soft sand black finish that keeps the fitting quiet against a dark ceiling. The LED sits inside, tuned to a warm white 3000K that reads soft and slightly golden on plaster, timber and paint. It draws 7W and gives a tight, controlled beam rather than a broad wash, so light lands where you point it and falls away cleanly. Its driver comes with it. It is not dimmable, so it is best switched on a circuit where full output is what you want.

We reach for a spot like this where the job is precision: a painting on a chimney breast, a run of shelves, a sculpture on a plinth, the working end of a kitchen. The 11cm body gives the LED some depth, which helps keep glare out of eye level when the fitting is aimed down into a room. It suits galleries at home, hallways with something worth looking at, and open-plan rooms where a few pools of light do more good than one bright ceiling. Warm white keeps it comfortable in living spaces.

The finish is a fine matt sand black, low in sheen, so it shows fingerprints and reflections less readily than gloss. Wipe the body now and then with a dry cloth, switched off and cool; nothing stronger is needed, and solvents should stay well away. It carries a three year warranty.
