This is a folding footstool with a woven synthetic rattan top, set on a steel frame whose legs cross beneath it. The top is polyethylene rattan, also called PE wicker, in a close 7mm weave, and measures 46 x 46cm with softly rounded corners. It stands 37cm high overall. The weave is a warm grey with a soft beige cast, and the frame is a mid-grey.

It is meant for indoors as well as out. On a patio or terrace it gives you somewhere to rest your feet in front of a garden chair or lounger, and indoors it suits a conservatory, a garden room or the space in front of an armchair. The figure to check before you order is the 34cm seat height. Measure the seat of the chair you plan to pair it with: a footstool close to that height keeps your legs roughly level, rather than angled up or down. At 46cm across, the top has room for both feet side by side.

The frame is galvanised steel with a powder-coated finish. Galvanising is a zinc coating that helps protect steel against rust. Polyethylene is a plastic and does not soak up water the way natural rattan can. Even so, we suggest a cover when the footstool is not in use, to keep it in good condition. It needs no assembly, and because it folds, it takes up less room when you put it away.
