Description

The Tizne is a 32cm diameter pendant light with a hand-woven paper cord shade wrapped around a black metal frame, suspended from a matte black ceiling canopy. The shade is built up from tightly wrapped paper fibre in a tall, ovoid silhouette measuring 47cm in height, creating a slender pendant profile that diffuses light through the gaps in the woven structure. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the shade, casting warm light through the weave and projecting shadow patterns onto nearby walls.

Designed for reading corners, bedside positions, and intimate dining areas, the Tizne works as a solo pendant over a chair or in pairs flanking a bed. The adjustable cable allows drops from 60cm to 250cm, letting the pendant hang low over a side table or higher in a hallway depending on ceiling height and use. The woven paper softens the black metal structure, making the fitting sit comfortably in Japandi, bohemian, and natural-material interiors.

The paper cord is wrapped by hand, so minor variations in weave density and pattern alignment occur between individual pendants. The black finish on the metal canopy and frame is matte rather than gloss, reducing reflections under daylight. At 1.1kg the pendant is light enough to hang from standard UK ceiling roses without additional bracing. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments only.

The pendant takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2700K for ambient lighting that complements the natural paper shade.

Can the drop height be adjusted?

Yes. The cable allows suspension heights from 60cm to 250cm, adjustable during installation. Over a bedside table or reading chair the pendant typically hangs 60-90cm from the ceiling, while hallway or stairwell installations use longer drops.

Is the woven shade identical on every pendant?

No. Each shade is hand-woven from paper cord, so minor variations in weave density, pattern alignment and fibre tone occur between individual pendants. This is characteristic of hand-made construction, not a defect.

Can it be used in bathrooms?
