Description
The Tiar is a 42cm table lamp built around a cylindrical arrangement of faceted glass prisms held within a chrome-plated metal frame, set on a circular chrome base. A single G9 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the prism assembly, casting light through the cut glass to create refracted patterns on surrounding surfaces. The prisms are transparent crystal-effect glass with vertical cuts that catch and split light as it passes through.
Designed for console tables, bedroom nightstands and vanity desks where a compact light source with visual interest is needed, the Tiar works in rooms where the lamp itself becomes a focal point. The 22cm diameter shade keeps the footprint small enough for narrow surfaces, while the 42cm total height positions the light source at a typical reading height when placed on a nightstand. The chrome finish reflects ambient light during the day, giving the lamp presence even when switched off.
The faceted glass prisms give the Tiar an Art Deco reference without literal period reproduction — the vertical arrangement and cylindrical form read as more contemporary than traditional tiered crystal designs. Each prism is individually mounted to the chrome frame with ABS fittings that maintain alignment and prevent contact noise. The 2.3kg combined weight of glass, metal and base gives the lamp stability on polished surfaces without requiring a weighted plinth.
The lamp is rated IP20 for dry indoor use and carries a Class 2 double-insulated construction, meaning it does not require an earth connection during installation. The G9 bulb fitting accepts halogen or LED capsule bulbs up to 10W, with most users choosing warm-white LED for lower heat output and longer bulb life.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Tiar takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 10W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED G9 between 2700K-3000K for lower heat output and longer bulb life than halogen equivalents.
How much light does it produce?
With a 10W G9 LED bulb, the lamp produces approximately 550 lumens. The faceted prisms scatter and refract the light, creating ambient illumination and decorative light patterns rather than focused task light.
Can it be used as a bedside reading lamp?
The Tiar provides ambient light suitable for general bedroom illumination and low-level reading. For intensive reading, a directional task lamp may be more appropriate, though many users find 550 lumens adequate for evening reading with a warm-white bulb.
How is the glass shade assembled?
The glass prisms arrive pre-mounted to the chrome frame. Assembly involves attaching the shade unit to the central column and base. Full assembly instructions are available in the Downloads section above.
