Description

The Teton is a 508mm diameter pendant light built around a two-tier drum frame wrapped in hand-woven natural rope, suspended from a matt black chain and canopy. Five E27 bulb positions sit behind the rope weave, which diffuses light outward while allowing the internal frame to cast defined shadows onto ceilings and walls when lit.

Designed for dining tables and kitchen islands in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Teton provides both ambient light and textural presence. The 394mm fitting height gives the pendant enough vertical scale to anchor a dining space without overwhelming sightlines across the table. The drop is adjustable from 504mm to 2333mm using the 1829mm supplied chain, allowing installation above standard dining tables (700-800mm clearance) or higher above kitchen islands depending on ceiling height.

The natural rope is woven in tight horizontal bands around a powder-coated black metal frame, creating a two-tier silhouette where the lower tier sits slightly recessed from the upper. This stepped profile adds architectural depth and prevents the pendant from reading as a simple cylinder. The rope itself is untreated jute-style fibre in a warm sand-blonde tone that pairs with timber floors, rattan furniture, linen upholstery and neutral plaster walls. The matt black metalwork provides structural definition without competing visually with the rope texture.

The open weave of the rope allows approximately 40-50% light transmission through the sides of the shade, with the remainder casting diffuse ambient glow onto the ceiling via the open top and bottom of the drum. This makes the Teton more suited to ambient mood lighting than task lighting — pair with dimmable warm-white LED E27 bulbs at 6-8W per socket for a total output around 2500-3000 lumens across all five positions.

What bulbs does it take?

The Teton takes five E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use warm-white LED bulbs at 6-8W per socket and 2700K colour temperature for ambient dining or lounge lighting.

Is the rope shade cleanable?

The natural rope can be dusted gently with a soft brush or microfibre cloth. For deeper cleaning, a barely-damp cloth can be used, but avoid soaking the rope fibres. Do not use chemical sprays or polishes, as these may stain or damage the natural fibre.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable drop allows installation in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. For a dining table, the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above the table surface, which requires approximately 2.5-2.7m ceiling height once the 394mm fitting height is accounted for.

Can it be used in bathrooms or outdoors?

No. The Teton carries no IP rating and the natural rope is not moisture-resistant. It is designed for dry indoor use only in living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms.
