Description

The Tau is a 150cm LED floor lamp built around a slender black aluminium column with a flexible silicone neon diffuser running the length of the upright. The diffuser houses a high-density LED rope rated at 15W and 3000K, casting soft warm white light along the full height of the lamp rather than from a single bulb fitting at the top.

Designed for reading corners, beside sofas, and home offices where ambient background light is needed without glare or hard shadows, the Tau suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The 22cm circular base sits flat on bare floors and rugs without needing additional weighting. The flexible silicone diffuser allows the light column to be gently curved into an arc during installation, giving some control over the direction of the light spread.

The black powder-coated aluminium column provides structural rigidity while the white silicone diffuser softens the LED output and prevents direct view of the rope light itself. The 15W integrated LED is fixed and non-replaceable, but rated for 30,000+ hours of typical use. The IP20 rating restricts the lamp to dry indoor environments only.

Is the Tau dimmable?

The integrated 15W LED is not listed as dimmable in the specification. The lamp operates at full brightness when connected to mains power.

Can the LED be replaced when it fails?

The LED rope is integrated into the silicone diffuser and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for 30,000+ hours of typical use, which equates to approximately 10 years of use at 8 hours per day.

Can the light column be curved or shaped?

The silicone diffuser is flexible and can be gently curved into an arc shape during installation, allowing some control over the direction of light spread. The aluminium column itself is rigid and cannot be bent.

What room size does the 15W output suit?

The 15W 3000K LED provides ambient background light rather than task illumination. It suits living rooms, bedrooms and offices up to approximately 15-20m² where it acts as secondary lighting alongside ceiling fittings or table lamps.
