Description
The Sylvia is a 2-light wall fitting with two arched arms extending from a circular matte black backplate, each arm supporting a clear glass dome shade that sits above the frame. The fitting takes two E14 bulbs (sold separately) up to 40W each, with the clear glass domes diffusing light outward and upward while leaving the bulbs partially visible.
Designed for hallways, living room feature walls, and positions flanking artwork or mirrors, the Sylvia works in rooms where a symmetrical accent is needed without ceiling height constraints. The 305mm width and 292mm height suit typical 2.4m ceiling heights, and the 146mm projection from the wall places the glass domes far enough forward to cast light onto adjacent surfaces without blocking walkways. The dual-arm layout provides more distributed light than a single-shade wall fitting.
The matte black finish on the metal frame absorbs reflections under daylight and pairs cleanly with monochrome, industrial and contemporary interiors. The clear glass domes create a contrast between the solid backplate and the transparency of the shades, making the fitting read as lighter and more open than an opaque equivalent. The exposed bulb position inside each dome means filament-style LED bulbs show their structure, while frosted bulbs provide softer diffusion.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Sylvia take?
The fitting takes two E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K, or filament-style LED bulbs where the visible bulb structure adds to the design.
How far does it project from the wall?
The fitting projects 146mm from the wall surface to the front of the glass domes. This is suitable for hallways and beside doorways where deeper projection would obstruct movement, but provides enough standoff to cast light onto adjacent walls.
Is it suitable for bathrooms?
The Sylvia does not carry an IP rating and is designed for dry interior use only. It is not suitable for bathrooms unless installed well outside splash zones and the room is ventilated to prevent moisture buildup.
Can the glass domes be replaced if damaged?
Replacement glass shades may be available through Alora Mood or specialist lighting parts suppliers. Contact us with the SKU (ALM-SYLVIA-2WB-BK-CL) if you need to source a replacement dome.
