Description

This is a plain velvet cushion in a warm mustard yellow, measuring 50 x 50cm square. The face is a smooth, single-colour velvet with no printed pattern, so the interest comes from the surface itself and from the hand-worked stitching that runs right around the edge. Look closely at the trim and you can see a contrast blanket stitch in a pale, natural thread, worked over the seam so it sits proud of the velvet. It is a quiet cushion that earns its place through texture rather than colour clash.

A 50 x 50cm square is the standard large scatter size, which makes this an easy cushion to build a sofa or bed around.
