Description

The SpektroLED Evo is an 8W fire-rated LED downlight with RGB colour control and adjustable CCT from 3000K to 6000K, controlled via the SmartKnight app over Wi-Fi. The fitting uses a CoB LED delivering 855lm output through a prismatic diffuser, with a white pressed steel magnetic bezel as standard and five alternative bezel finishes available separately (matt black, polished chrome, brushed chrome, brushed brass, antique brass).

Designed for residential, hospitality and commercial installation where colour-changing or tuneable white light is needed, the downlight carries IP65 rating from below (IP20 from above), making it suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms, kitchens and outdoor covered soffits. The fitting is fire-rated for 30/60/90 minutes in solid timber ceilings, 30 minutes in web joist and 30 minutes in i-joist construction. It is also IC-rated for direct contact with loft insulation and acoustic-rated to ISO 10140-2:2010.

The SpektroLED Evo uses a male-female connector system that allows cables to be terminated during first fix and hidden until decoration is complete, with the downlight plugged in after painting. The same connector allows the fitting to be unplugged for maintenance or bezel changes without disturbing the wiring. The 70mm cut-out and 43mm minimum void requirement suit standard joist depths. Voice control is available via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and multiple fittings can be grouped into zones or scenes within the app (maximum 100 fittings per group).

The RGB mode provides full-spectrum colour control for accent lighting, party mode or visual signalling, while the CCT mode allows white light to be shifted from warm 3000K to cool 6000K for task lighting or circadian rhythm alignment. The fitting carries a 7-year manufacturer warranty and meets post-2021 energy efficiency standards (Class C). Dimming is controlled via the app rather than mains dimmers.

Is the SpektroLED Evo suitable for bathrooms?

Yes. The fitting carries an IP65 rating from below, making it suitable for wet rooms, bathrooms and shower zones where moisture is present. The IP20 rating from above means the void space above the ceiling must remain dry.

How is the colour and colour temperature controlled?

Colour and CCT are controlled via the SmartKnight app over Wi-Fi (2.4GHz only). The downlight can be switched on and off at the wall switch, but RGB colour selection and CCT adjustment require the app. Voice control is also available via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Can I change the bezel finish?

Yes. The white bezel is magnetic and can be swapped for alternative finishes (matt black, polished chrome, brushed chrome, brushed brass, antique brass) sold separately. The bezel pulls off without tools.

What's the advantage of the plug connector system?

The male-female connector allows cables to be terminated during first fix and hidden behind plasterboard until decorating is finished. The downlight is then plugged in after painting, avoiding paint splatter on the fitting. The same system allows the downlight to be unplugged for maintenance without disturbing the wiring.
