The Soren cushion carries an abstract geometric pattern worked into cut velvet, so the design is felt as much as seen. The raised velvet lines and the flatter woven ground catch the light differently, which is why the maze-like motif shifts as you move past it or as the daylight changes through the day. This is a 45cm square cushion in slate blue, a muted grey-blue that reads cool and calm rather than bright. The face is patterned; the reverse, as the photographs show, is a plain slate blue velvet with no pattern at all.
