Description
The Solora is a 1.5m outdoor floor lamp with a white powder-coated metal stem and circular base, topped with a 390mm conical diffuser in opal-coloured plastic. A single E27 bulb inside the diffuser (sold separately) casts soft, diffused light downwards and outwards, suitable for ambient lighting on patios, decking, poolside areas and outdoor seating zones. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction, allowing the lamp to be used in open-air locations exposed to rain and weather.
Designed for residential gardens, hospitality terraces and outdoor lounges, the Solora runs from a standard UK mains plug and requires access to an outdoor socket or weather-protected extension lead. The conical diffuser spreads light in a wide pool around the lamp, providing enough illumination for social seating areas without creating harsh shadows. The circular base gives stability on paving slabs, composite decking and outdoor tiles — the lamp is not designed for soft ground or grass without a hard surface underneath.
The white powder-coated finish on the metal resists rust and UV degradation better than painted steel, and the opal plastic diffuser is impact-resistant and does not yellow under prolonged sunlight. The lamp accepts any standard E27 bulb up to the rated wattage (check the Specification tab), allowing you to choose warm-white LED for ambient mood lighting or daylight-temperature LED for functional task lighting around outdoor dining tables. The combination of metal stem and plastic diffuser keeps the overall weight manageable for repositioning between uses.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP44 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP44 protects against solid objects larger than 1mm and water splashes from any direction. The Solora can be used in open-air locations exposed to rain, but should not be submerged in water or left standing in pooled water on the base. It is suitable for covered patios, open decking and garden areas where it will be exposed to weather.
Is the lamp dimmable?
Yes, but dimming depends on the bulb you fit and the type of dimmer used. If you fit a dimmable E27 LED bulb and plug the lamp into a trailing-edge dimmer or smart plug with dimming capability, the light output can be controlled. Standard on-off plugs provide full brightness only.
What bulb should I use?
The lamp takes a standard E27 bulb. For outdoor ambient lighting, most users fit a warm-white LED bulb (2700K-3000K) between 6-10W. Check the Specification tab for the maximum wattage rating. Bulbs are sold separately.
Can it be left outside all year?
The white powder-coated metal and opal plastic are weather-resistant, and the IP44 rating allows the lamp to be used outdoors in rain. However, during extended periods of non-use or harsh winter conditions, storing the lamp in a shed or garage will extend its lifespan. If left outside, ensure the base is not standing in pooled water.
