Description

The SmartKnight CAMFIX01 is a 2MP indoor security camera with a fixed 59mm polycarbonate housing, delivering 1080p resolution at 20 frames per second over Wi-Fi. The camera includes infrared night vision for low-light monitoring, two-way audio for real-time communication through the SmartKnight app, and motion detection that triggers instant alerts to iOS or Android devices when activity is detected.

Designed for residential and light commercial use, the camera suits hallways, living rooms, home offices and small retail spaces where plug-in mains power is available. The 2m cable runs to a standard UK 230V socket, and the white finish on the polycarbonate housing sits neutrally against walls and ceilings. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments — this camera cannot be used in bathrooms, kitchens near wet areas, or any outdoor locations.

Recording options include local storage on a MicroSD card up to 128GB (card sold separately) or subscription-based cloud storage via the SmartKnight platform. Motion detection can be configured to record only when movement is detected, reducing storage demand. The camera integrates with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing voice commands to display the live feed on compatible smart displays.

Setup runs through the SmartKnight app without requiring additional hardware hubs or routers. The app handles configuration, live viewing, playback of recorded clips, and management of motion detection zones and sensitivity. The two-way audio uses a built-in microphone and speaker, enabling conversation with anyone in the room where the camera is installed.

No. The IP20 rating restricts the camera to dry indoor environments only. It cannot be used outdoors, in bathrooms, in kitchens near wet areas, or any location where moisture or splashing water is present.

Does night vision work automatically?

Yes. The infrared night vision activates automatically when ambient light drops below a threshold, switching the camera to black-and-white mode for low-light visibility.

Is cloud storage required?
