Description
The Silene is a 100x150cm portrait photography print on 4mm tempered glass, featuring a monochrome female figure overlaid with a bouquet of peach, rose and cream florals that obscure the upper face. The black background isolates the subject, while the botanical elements introduce warm tones against the grayscale skin and dark lips. The print is sealed behind the glass surface rather than mounted on paper or canvas, giving a smooth, reflective finish that intensifies contrast under direct or angled lighting.
Designed for bedrooms, dressing rooms, corridors and entrance halls with wall space of at least 1.2m wide by 1.8m high, the Silene works as a standalone statement piece or as part of a paired or triptych arrangement in larger gallery walls. The 14.8kg weight requires two wall fixings into solid masonry or timber studwork — the included ironwork brackets are designed for vertical orientation only. The 4mm glass depth sits approximately 10mm proud of the wall once mounted, creating subtle shadow and separation from the surface.
The floral overlay combines tulips, roses, dahlias and smaller blossom in muted peach, blush and cream tones that soften the otherwise high-contrast monochrome composition. The bouquet appears to grow from the figure's neck and shoulders, covering the eyes and forehead while leaving the nose, lips and lower face visible. This arrangement creates visual tension between concealment and exposure, making the piece equally suited to minimalist interiors (where it adds colour and organic form) and to darker, more atmospheric rooms (where the black background recedes and the florals gain prominence).

Frequently Asked
What wall fixings are needed?
The Silene weighs 14.8kg and requires two secure fixings into solid masonry or timber studwork. The included ironwork brackets are designed for vertical orientation. Plasterboard-only walls will need reinforcement or specialist heavy-duty fixings rated for at least 15kg per fixing.
Can it be hung horizontally?
The supplied brackets and the composition are designed for vertical orientation only. Horizontal mounting would require different fixings and would alter the intended visual balance of the piece.
How is the glass surface cleaned?
Wipe with a dry microfibre cloth. For fingerprints or smudges, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water or a standard glass cleaner applied to the cloth, not directly onto the print. Avoid abrasive materials or chemical solvents that could damage the printed surface behind the glass.
What rooms suit this print?
The Silene works in bedrooms, dressing rooms, entrance halls and corridors with wall space of at least 1.2m wide by 1.8m high. The black background suits both light and dark interiors — in pale rooms it provides contrast, while in darker rooms the florals gain prominence and the background recedes.
