Sensor Light Remote Control - White

This white handheld remote control changes a sensor light's settings from the floor. It is a round-cornered rectangle, taller than it is wide, with 22 buttons, each carrying its own label or symbol. On/Off and Sensor sit at the top. Sensor lighting earns its place in spaces people pass through: hallways, stairwells, corridors, storerooms and garages. Those fittings usually sit on a ceiling or high on a wall, and a remote spares whoever looks after them a ladder whenever something needs changing. It suits the installer, landlord or facilities manager who wants a light that stays on long enough for someone to reach the end of a corridor, yet stays off in a room already full of daylight. In a stairwell, a light that dims to a low stand-by level rather than switching straight off means nobody steps onto a dark landing.

What does hold time mean, and what are the options?

On a sensor light, the hold time is how long the light stays on after the last movement it detects. The Hold Time row offers 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes and 10 minutes.

What are the stand-by dim level and stand-by period for?

On a sensor light with a stand-by function, the dim level is the low brightness it falls back to once the hold time ends, and the period is how long it stays there before switching off. The dim level row offers Dim plus and minus, 10% and 30%; the period row offers 0 seconds, 3 minutes, 10 minutes and a button marked with an infinity sign.

Can I reduce how far the sensor reaches?

On a sensor light, the detection area is how far out movement is picked up, and a smaller area helps stop the light reacting to movement beyond the space it serves. The Detection Area row has four buttons, marked with arrows that shorten from left to right.

What does the daylight threshold do?

A daylight threshold is the brightness above which a sensor light will not switch on, so it can stay off while a space is already bright. The Daylight Threshold row has Test and Disable buttons, with a moon symbol and a sun symbol between them.

What battery does it take, and how far away can I use it?

The manufacturer does not state the battery the remote takes, whether one is supplied, how far away it works, or whether it uses infrared or radio. As a general rule, an infrared remote needs a clear line of sight to the sensor and a radio remote does not.
