Our Sennori occasional chair pairs taupe teddy fabric with open, curved wooden arms and four tapered legs in rubberwood. Teddy fabric has a soft, fleecy pile, much like a teddy bear's coat, which gives an upholstered seat far more texture than a flat weave. Taupe sits between grey and brown, so it settles into both cooler and warmer colour schemes. The chair measures 63cm wide, 70cm deep and 77cm high.

An occasional chair is the extra seat in a room rather than the main one, and because this one has arms it works as a reading armchair in a living room corner, a bedroom, or on a landing wide enough to take it. Arms also give you somewhere to rest your forearms and something to push against as you stand. With the seat at 45cm and the arms at 61cm, check both figures against the sofa or chair it will sit beside, so you know how the two will line up. Open arms look lighter than fully upholstered sides, which helps in a smaller room. Before ordering, mark out 63 x 70cm on the floor with tape and leave clear space in front for sitting down and standing up.

By composition the chair is 85% rubberwood, 10% foam and 5% polyester. Rubberwood is a hardwood from the rubber tree and a common choice for furniture; here it forms the open arms and the legs.
