Description

The Selene is a 2m arc floor lamp with a matt black metal stem supporting a horizontal canopy adorned with faceted crystal droplets. An integrated 20W LED module inside the canopy casts 800lm of warm 3000K light downward and through the crystal, which refracts the beam into scattered points across walls and ceilings.

Designed for living rooms, entrance halls and open-plan spaces with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, the Selene combines ambient and decorative lighting. The arc positions the light head approximately 1.5-1.8m forward from the base, allowing it to overhang a sofa end, side table or reading chair without requiring a ceiling fitting directly above. The 43cm x 58cm footprint provides stability on carpets and hard floors, and the 15.8kg weight prevents tipping when the arm is extended.

The matt black finish absorbs daylight and reduces glare, while the faceted crystal droplets catch and scatter artificial light at dusk. The crystal cut style pairs with both traditional and contemporary interiors, particularly those using metallics, glass or polished surfaces elsewhere in the room. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm white light comparable to halogen without the heat output or shorter lifespan.

The lamp is manufactured by Schuller in Spain, rated IP20 for dry indoor use only, and operates on 24V low voltage via an included driver that plugs into a standard UK mains socket. Class 3 electrical classification means the lamp itself carries no mains voltage, only the low-voltage feed from the driver to the LED module.

Is the Selene dimmable?

The integrated LED operates on a low-voltage driver supplied with the lamp. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific driver model. Contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility.

What ceiling height is needed?

The lamp stands 2m tall with an arching arm that extends forward approximately 1.5-1.8m from the base. Rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher give the lamp sufficient clearance without the head sitting too close to the ceiling.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the lamp is suitable for dry indoor rooms only. It is not rated for bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any space where moisture is present.

How is the crystal cleaned?

The faceted crystal droplets can be dusted with a dry microfibre cloth. For deeper cleaning, remove each droplet from its hanging point and wipe gently with a barely-damp cloth, then dry immediately. Avoid soaking the crystal or using household cleaners.
