Description

The Savanna is a 1.6m crystal floor lamp built around a central polished chrome column from which asymmetric chrome rods radiate in multiple directions, each rod capped with a crystal disc set inside a solid chrome ring. Three G9 bulb fittings sit within the cluster, illuminating the crystals from within and casting fractured light through the discs onto surrounding walls and ceiling. The polished chrome finish amplifies the refracted light, turning the lamp into both a light source and a reflective sculpture.

Designed for living rooms, lounges, hallways and bedroom corners where ambient light is needed alongside a strong decorative presence, the Savanna works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above to allow clearance for the 440mm-wide crystal cluster at the top of the column. The lamp includes an inline dimmer on the power cable, allowing brightness to be adjusted without needing a dimmer switch on the wall circuit. The heavy 9.5kg base keeps the lamp stable on carpet and hard floors without tipping.

Each crystal disc varies slightly in diameter, creating an irregular cluster that appears different from every viewing angle. The chrome rods extend at different lengths and angles, so the crystals sit at varied depths within the overall sphere. When the lamp is switched off, the polished chrome and clear crystal read as a sculptural object; when lit, the G9 bulbs turn the crystals into light-scattering prisms that throw patterns of refracted highlights onto nearby surfaces. The lamp accepts standard G9 halogen capsule bulbs up to 33W each (sold separately) and is compatible with dimmable G9 bulbs.

What bulbs does the Savanna take?

The lamp takes three G9 halogen capsule bulbs, each rated up to 33W. Bulbs are sold separately. G9 LED bulbs are not recommended for this fitting as they may not provide the same light scatter through the crystal discs as halogen capsules.

Is the dimmer built into the lamp?

Yes. The inline dimmer sits on the power cable between the plug and the lamp base, allowing brightness to be adjusted without needing a wall-mounted dimmer switch. Dimmable G9 bulbs are required for the dimmer to function correctly.

How stable is the base?

The lamp weighs 9.5kg and uses a wide circular chrome base that provides stability on both carpet and hard floors. The weight is distributed low in the lamp, reducing the risk of tipping if the cable is caught.

What ceiling height is needed?

At 1.6m tall with a 440mm-wide crystal cluster at the top, the Savanna works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above to avoid the lamp feeling cramped. In lower-ceiling rooms, the lamp may visually compress the space.
