Description

A shallow square panel with a matt white frame, this one sits recessed so only the flat face and a fine border show at ceiling level. The LED is integrated and the driver is supplied with it, putting out 2090 lumens of warm white at 3000K from 24W. The face is diffused rather than open, so you look at an evenly lit panel instead of a bright point of light. Light is switched rather than dimmed, so it comes on at full output.

We fit these where a pendant would hang too low and a spotlight bar would look busy: hallways, landings, kitchens, utility rooms, home offices and stair returns with little headroom to spare. The spread is broad, so the light washes across a space instead of dropping in tight circles, and the warm tone keeps kitchens and living rooms easy on the eye. Ganged in a row it lights a corridor evenly; used on its own it covers a small room. It belongs in rooms that stay dry, away from shower zones and anywhere open to the weather.

The finish is matt white through the frame, flat enough that the fitting reads as part of the ceiling when it is off, and white on white keeps it discreet against painted plaster. Cleaning asks very little: kill the power, let it cool, then wipe the face with a barely damp cloth and dry it off. Skip solvents and scouring pads, which will dull the white. It carries a three year warranty. The wider Saona range continues with surface flush fittings in both round and square shapes, across several sizes, for ceilings where a recess is not an option.
