Description

A slim round face of frosted acrylic sits in a matt white surround, giving a soft, wide spread of light with no glare pit and no visible lamp. The LED is built in and the driver comes with it, so there is nothing to buy separately and nothing to change later. At 24W it produces 2200 lumens of cool white light, which is a bright, clean quality rather than a warm one, and it needs a 210mm cut-out.

We would choose this where a room wants broad, even brightness from something that barely reads as a light at all: kitchen ceilings, hallways and landings, home offices, utility rooms and box rooms with low headroom. The wide throw means one unit covers more floor than a cluster of narrow spots, and the cool tone keeps worktops and paperwork looking sharp. It is not dimmable, so plan it onto a plain switched circuit rather than a dimmer plate. Keep it to dry rooms indoors; it is not made for a shower zone or anywhere exposed to steam and splashing.

The body is metal-backed with an acrylic diffuser, and the white finish is a true flat matt that disappears against a painted ceiling. Acrylic marks if you are rough with it, so leave the fitting switched off and cool, then wipe the face with a soft cloth, barely damp if there is kitchen grease to lift, and keep solvents and scouring pads well away. It carries a three year warranty.
