Description

The Sangamo 72102NFC is a single-channel astronomical time switch with NFC programming, designed for DIN rail mounting in distribution boards and control panels. The unit controls a single circuit via a 16A volt-free changeover contact, switching loads on and off based on sunrise/sunset times calculated from GPS coordinates entered during setup. Programming is done wirelessly using an Android phone with NFC capability, removing the need for a PC or USB cable.

Designed for commercial, industrial and residential lighting control where switching times need to track seasonal daylight changes, the 72102NFC suits car park lighting, external building perimeter lights, security lighting and street lighting installations. The astronomical function adjusts switching times daily based on the programmed location, so once configured the unit requires no manual intervention across the year. The 1-module width (18mm) fits into standard UK and European distribution boards alongside MCBs and RCDs.

The unit stores up to four independent switching programmes in memory, allowing different schedules for weekdays, weekends, holidays or seasonal variations. The 10-year lithium battery reserve maintains programmed settings during mains outages, so the time switch resumes operation after power restoration without losing its configuration. The LCD display shows current time, programmed switching events and system status, with four navigation buttons for on-unit adjustment when NFC programming is not available.

The 16A changeover contact provides normally-open and normally-closed terminals, giving flexibility to control either direct-start loads or interlocked circuits. Maximum switching current is 16A at 230V AC resistive, with lower ratings for inductive loads — see the Specification tab for the full contact rating table.

How is the astro function programmed?

The unit is programmed wirelessly using an Android phone with NFC capability. Hold the phone to the NFC symbol on the time switch and use the Sangamo app to enter GPS coordinates for the installation location. The time switch calculates sunrise and sunset times daily based on those coordinates.

What DIN rail size does it fit?

The 72102NFC clips onto standard 35mm DIN rail (EN 60715 TH35) and occupies a 1-module width (18mm). It fits alongside MCBs, RCDs and other modular devices in UK and European distribution boards.

Does it retain settings during a power cut?

Yes. A 10-year lithium battery reserve maintains all programmed settings, the real-time clock and the switching schedule during mains outages. The unit resumes normal operation when power returns without needing reprogramming.

Can it control multiple circuits?

No. The 72102NFC provides a single 16A changeover contact controlling one circuit. For multi-channel control, multiple time switches or a multi-channel model would be needed.
