Description
The Sabik LED B-NW is a recessed step light that sits flush in the wall to mark stairs, landings and low-level routes. It draws just 0.8W on a 12V DC supply and gives a quiet 14 lumen output in a cool white 4000K tone, so it works as a low-level marker rather than as a primary source. Sold in the United States as a recessed step light or stair marker light, it casts a soft downward wash across the tread below it without throwing glare into the eyeline. The square 75 x 75 mm face keeps the footprint small, and the modest beam reads as a gentle pool of light at foot level.
Indoor stairways, split-level hallways and the lower wall line of corridors suit this fitting, where it picks out each step and edge after dark. Because the output is intentionally low, think of coverage in terms of marking the step and the immediate floor in front of it rather than lighting a whole space. A short run of these set at regular intervals along a staircase gives an even line of guidance lights, and the cool white tone keeps the treads crisp and easy to read. It is best placed a little above tread height so the light falls onto the step rather than across the room.
The face is finished in black, with a body combining polished stainless steel and plastic. The fitting carries an IP20 rating, so it is for dry indoor positions only and should be kept clear of bathrooms, porches and any outdoor or damp location. It is recessed into the wall, runs from a 12V DC supply that needs a suitable transformer or driver, and is non-dimmable. The integrated LED is rated to around 50,000 hours, and at 92 g it is light enough to sit comfortably in a standard wall recess. The wider Sabik range includes further low-level fittings in matching finishes.

Frequently Asked
Does it need a 12V transformer or driver?
Yes. The Sabik runs on 12V DC, so it must be connected through a suitable low-voltage transformer or driver rather than directly to the mains. Several fittings can usually share one transformer of adequate rating, which is handy when running a line of step lights along a staircase.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
No. This fitting is rated IP20, which means it is for dry indoor use only. Keep it clear of bathrooms, porches, garages and any outdoor or damp position, and choose a higher-rated step light for those locations.
How is it installed?
It is a recessed fitting that sits flush in the wall, set into a prepared back box or recess at low level. Positioning it a little above tread height lets the light fall onto the step below rather than across the room, which gives the cleanest marker effect.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the black face gently with a soft, dry or lightly dampened cloth once the power is off and the fitting is cool. Avoid solvents and abrasive pads so the finish stays intact, and take care not to press hard on the recessed face.
