Description

The Schuller Ring is a 42cm circular LED ceiling and wall light with an integrated 14W 3000K LED, a matte black metal frame, and a clear acrylic diffuser ring that wraps halfway around the outer edge. The LED sits behind the acrylic segments, casting a halo of warm white light outward and creating a shadow line between the lit and unlit sections of the ring.

Designed for dual-mount installation, the Ring fits flush to ceilings or walls with a 7cm projection depth. It suits hallways, landings, bedrooms and bathrooms (IP20, not suitable for zones requiring IP44 or higher) where low-profile lighting is needed without the visual bulk of a full-coverage flush fitting. The matte black finish pairs with contemporary, minimalist and industrial interiors, while the acrylic diffuser softens the LED output to 893 lumens of ambient rather than task light.

The metal and aluminium construction gives the fitting a 1.03kg weight that feels solid on the wall mount without needing heavy-duty fixings. The matte finish is fine-sanded rather than textured, so it reads as flat black under most lighting conditions and sits comfortably alongside other black metalwork in the room. The clear acrylic diffuser hides the LED strip from direct view, preventing glare when mounted at or near eye level on a wall.

Can this be mounted on both ceiling and wall?

Yes. The Ring is designed for dual-mount installation and fits flush to ceilings or walls with a 7cm projection. The mounting bracket is included and attaches to a standard UK back box or ceiling rose.

Is the LED dimmable?

The specification does not list dimmer compatibility. Most integrated LED fittings require a trailing-edge LED-compatible dimmer if dimming is needed, but this should be confirmed before pairing with a dimmer switch.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The Ring carries an IP20 rating, which means it is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It cannot be used in bathroom zones requiring IP44 or higher (zones 1 and 2 around showers and baths). It is acceptable in zone 3 (outside the shower/bath area) where IP20 is permitted.

What colour is the light output?

The integrated LED is rated at 3000K, which is warm white. This produces a soft yellow-white light similar to a traditional incandescent bulb, rather than the cooler blue-white of daylight LEDs.
