Description

The Renu is a 6W fire-rated LED tilt downlight with switchable colour temperature selection between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 6500K cool white, accessed via a switch on the rear of the LED driver. The fitting tilts up to 20° from vertical, allowing light to be directed onto a wall, artwork or worktop rather than straight down.

Designed for residential and commercial installations where fire rating, acoustic control and thermal insulation contact are required, the Renu carries 30/60/90-minute fire ratings for solid timber joists, 30-minute for web joists and 30/90-minute for i-joists. The IC rating allows it to be installed in direct contact with loft insulation without overheating, and the acoustic rating reduces sound transmission between floors in multi-storey buildings. The 86mm diameter white bezel projects just 2mm from the ceiling once installed, with a 55-70mm adjustable cut-out to suit different ceiling thicknesses.

The fitting uses pressed steel and polycarbonate construction with push-fit loop-in/loop-out terminals that allow multiple downlights to be daisy-chained without junction boxes. The integrated 6W LED delivers 560-630 lumens depending on which colour temperature is selected, with a CRI of >80 and a 50° beam angle. The downlight is dimmable when paired with trailing-edge dimmers (compatibility should be checked before installation). Interchangeable bezels in matt black, polished chrome, brushed chrome and brass are available separately, allowing the finish to be changed without rewiring.

How do I change the colour temperature?

A small switch on the rear of the LED driver allows you to select between 3000K (warm white), 4000K (neutral white) and 6500K (cool white). The colour temperature is set during installation and cannot be changed once the ceiling is closed up without removing the downlight.

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum 62mm void depth is needed above the ceiling to accommodate the recessed body of the downlight and the separate driver unit. The cut-out diameter adjusts between 55mm and 70mm to suit different ceiling thicknesses.

Is it suitable for insulated ceilings?
