Description

The Radiara is a 15W constant current LED driver delivering 450mA output with 1-10V dimming protocol support. Housed in a white plastic enclosure measuring 150mm long by 43mm wide, the driver regulates current to LED arrays rather than voltage, maintaining consistent light output as the LED ages and its forward voltage shifts over time.

Designed for residential, commercial and hospitality installations where LED downlights, panels or strip lighting require dimming control, the 1-10V protocol pairs with compatible wall dimmers or building management systems to adjust light output from 10% to 100%. The driver fits within most ceiling voids and luminaire housings where 150mm of linear space is available, and the IP20 rating restricts installation to dry indoor locations only.

The constant current topology prevents LED degradation caused by current spikes and voltage fluctuations on the mains supply. Internal protection circuits guard against over-temperature, short-circuit and open-circuit faults, shutting the driver down before component damage occurs. The 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux covers the driver against manufacturing defects when installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 wiring regulations.

Any 1-10V protocol dimmer or control system works with this driver. The 1-10V standard uses a separate low-voltage control cable (typically 2-core) running from the dimmer to the driver's control terminals, independent of the mains wiring.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the driver has no protection against moisture ingress and must be installed in dry indoor locations only. For bathroom zones 1 and 2, an IP65 or IP67 rated driver is required.

How is it wired into the circuit?

Mains 230V AC connects to the input terminals. The LED fixture connects to the DC output terminals. The dimmer control cable connects to the 1-10V terminals. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671.
