Description

The Radiara is a 12W constant current LED driver delivering 300mA output with 1-10V dimming control. The driver regulates current rather than voltage, maintaining stable brightness across LED fittings even as individual LED forward voltages vary with temperature or ageing. The 1-10V interface accepts analogue dimming signals from compatible wall controllers or lighting control systems, allowing smooth adjustment from 10% to 100% output without flicker.

Designed for recessed downlights, linear LED strips and panel fittings in residential, commercial and hospitality installations, the driver fits into typical ceiling voids and modular ceiling grids where the 150mm length and 43mm height allow installation behind panels or within back boxes. The IP20 rating confines use to dry internal spaces — living rooms, offices, retail interiors, hotel corridors. Overload, short-circuit and thermal protection mechanisms shut the driver down before damage occurs, protecting both the driver and the downstream LED load.

The white polycarbonate housing dissipates heat through ventilation slots along the sides, keeping internal components within operating temperature across typical ceiling void conditions. Input terminals accept 220-240V mains, and output terminals connect to the LED load via push-fit connectors or screw terminals depending on wiring preference. The driver carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux, covering component failure under normal operating conditions.

Frequently Asked

What does 1-10V dimming mean?

1-10V is an analogue dimming protocol where a separate low-voltage control wire carries a 1-10V signal to the driver. 10V equals full brightness, 1V equals minimum brightness (typically 10% output). A compatible 1-10V wall dimmer or lighting control system is required.

What LED fittings is this driver compatible with?

The driver suits any LED fitting designed to run on 300mA constant current at up to 12W total load. Check the LED fitting's specification sheet to confirm it requires a constant current driver and matches the 300mA output. Voltage output will vary depending on the LED load.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations. It cannot be installed in bathroom zones where moisture is present. For bathrooms, an IP65 or higher rated driver is required.

What's the difference between constant current and constant voltage drivers?

Constant current drivers regulate output current (300mA in this case) and let voltage vary depending on the LED load. Constant voltage drivers regulate output voltage (e.g. 12V or 24V) and let current vary. LEDs wired in series typically require constant current; LEDs wired in parallel typically require constant voltage.
