Description

The Prismatic corner L-connector joins two track lighting sections at a 90-degree angle, allowing track lighting systems to turn corners without visible cable runs or surface-mounted junction boxes. The connector is moulded from black plastic with internal contact rails that maintain electrical continuity between the two track sections it bridges.

Designed for surface-mounted track lighting installations in retail spaces, galleries, home offices and kitchens, the connector forms a right-angled junction where two straight track sections meet at a corner or where a run needs to turn across a ceiling or wall. The 225mm x 225mm footprint gives the connector enough projection to accommodate the track width on both arms while maintaining a low 30mm height profile above the mounting surface.

The black finish matches the Prismatic track system from Ideal Lux and blends into dark ceilings or creates contrast against white surfaces depending on installation context. The plastic construction keeps the connector lightweight — important when multiple connectors are used in a multi-section track layout — while maintaining structural rigidity under the weight of track-mounted spotlights. Installation involves slotting the connector onto the ends of two track sections and securing with the locking mechanisms built into the track system itself.

What track system is this compatible with?

This corner connector is designed specifically for the Prismatic track lighting system from Ideal Lux. It will not fit other brands' track systems due to differences in contact rail configuration and locking mechanisms.

Does it carry electrical current or is it just structural?

The connector carries electrical current between the two track sections it joins. Internal contact rails maintain continuity across the 90-degree turn, allowing spotlights to be mounted anywhere along the joined tracks.

Can it be used for wall-mounted track as well as ceiling-mounted?

Yes. The connector works equally well on ceiling-mounted or wall-mounted track installations. The orientation can be adjusted to turn left or right depending on the layout needed.

How is it fixed to the track sections?

The connector slots onto the ends of two straight track sections and locks using the same mechanism built into the Prismatic track system. No separate screws or fixings are needed for the connector itself — the track sections themselves are what mount to the ceiling or wall.
