Description

The Plato is a magnetic track spotlight with a 185mm circular black aluminium head housing an integrated 15W LED module rated at 3000K. The spotlight mounts via a magnetic adaptor onto Maytoni's Exility track system, which runs on DC 48V rather than mains voltage. The circular head rotates 355° on the vertical axis and tilts 180° on the horizontal, allowing the beam to be directed at walls, artwork, architectural features or product displays.

Designed for residential accent lighting and commercial retail or gallery installations where adjustable directed light is needed without fixed ceiling fittings, the Plato pairs with the Exility magnetic track system to allow spotlights to be repositioned along the track without tools. The magnetic connection means the spotlight can be slid along the track's length and clicked into a new position in seconds, making it suitable for spaces where lighting needs change regularly or where multiple spotlights need to be reconfigured around new displays or room layouts.

The 15W LED provides focused accent light rather than ambient fill, so the Plato is typically used in multiples along a track or paired with other light sources to build up layered lighting in a room. The 3000K colour temperature sits in the warm white range, giving a softer tone than the 4000K or 5000K often used in office or gallery settings. The black powder-coated aluminium housing minimises visual weight on the track and pairs cleanly with black, grey and dark-toned interiors. The spotlight carries an IP20 rating, restricting it to dry indoor use only.

Is the Plato compatible with standard track lighting systems?

No. The Plato is designed exclusively for Maytoni's Exility magnetic track system, which runs on DC 48V. It will not fit or function on standard mains-voltage track systems from other manufacturers. The Exility track and power supply must be purchased separately.

Can the spotlight be dimmed?

The integrated LED is not dimmable. The 15W output is fixed at full brightness when powered.

How many spotlights can be run on one Exility track?

The total wattage of all spotlights on the track must not exceed the capacity of the Exility power supply unit. Each Plato spotlight draws 15W, so a 120W power supply could support up to eight Plato units on a single track run. Refer to the Exility system documentation for the specific power supply capacity in use.

Can the spotlight be repositioned once installed?

Yes. The magnetic mounting allows the Plato to be slid along the Exility track and repositioned without tools. The magnetic connection releases and re-engages as the spotlight is moved, making it straightforward to reconfigure lighting layouts as needed.
