Description

This compact PIR motion sensor, decoded from the ALER MINI-B/B reference, is a passive infrared detector that switches connected lighting on automatically when movement is detected. It runs on a standard 220-240V AC supply and measures a small 80 x 80 x 67 mm, with the 80 mm body keeping it discreet on a wall or soffit. The plastic housing carries an IP44 rating, so it is suited to indoor positions and sheltered outdoor locations protected from direct water jets.

It wires in line with luminaires that need automatic on/off control, such as outdoor bulkheads, porch lights and utility battens, removing the need for a manual switch. The black finish blends against darker walls and eaves. We also stock further motion and daylight sensors to suit different mounting positions and detection requirements.

What is the detection range and angle?

This is a PIR (passive infrared) sensor that detects body heat moving across its field of view. Position it so the area you want to cover sits within its sweep, and avoid aiming it directly at heat sources or busy thoroughfares that could cause unwanted triggering.

What load can it switch?

It controls connected lighting on a 220-240V AC supply. Check the total wattage of the fittings you are wiring to it against the sensor's stated maximum load before installation, and keep within that figure to avoid overloading the unit.

Can the time and light level be adjusted?

PIR sensors of this type typically offer adjustable on-time and a daylight (lux) threshold so the lighting only activates after dark. Set the dwell time to how long you want the light to stay on after the last movement is detected.
