Description

The Phostis is a 500mm semi-flush ceiling light built around a white-painted metal canopy from which transparent chromed glass pearls cascade on fine metal wires. An integrated 61W LED system inside the canopy delivers 3000K warm white light through the glass, creating refracted patterns on walls and ceilings as the light catches each pearl.

Designed for rooms with standard ceiling heights (2.4m-2.7m), the semi-flush mount sits close to the ceiling while the glass pearls hang 150-200mm below the canopy, providing ambient light without occupying the headroom a full suspension fixture would need. The 61W output suits living rooms, dining areas and main bedrooms where ambient rather than task lighting is required. The dimmable LED allows the light level to be adjusted for different times of day.

The white metal canopy provides a neutral backdrop that allows the chromed glass pearls to take visual precedence. Each pearl is individually suspended on a wire, creating a three-dimensional cascading effect when viewed from different angles in the room. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only. Ideal Lux manufactures the Phostis in Italy and backs it with a 5-year warranty.

Yes. The integrated 61W LED is dimmable, but compatibility depends on the specific dimmer switch model. Trailing-edge dimmers designed for LED loads typically work best. Test compatibility with your existing dimmer or contact us for recommendations.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The semi-flush design suits standard ceiling heights of 2.4m-2.7m. The glass pearls hang approximately 150-200mm below the white metal canopy, so the overall fitting sits closer to the ceiling than a full pendant while still providing visual interest.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Phostis is suitable for dry indoor locations only. Bathrooms require IP44 or higher ratings for zones near showers and baths.

How is the fitting cleaned?

Switch off at the mains before cleaning. Wipe the white metal canopy with a dry microfibre cloth. The chromed glass pearls can be cleaned individually with a barely-damp cloth and dried immediately to prevent water marks. Avoid spraying cleaning products directly onto the fitting.
