Description

The Patio is a cordless table lamp: a rounded opal shade sitting on a slim silver cylinder, made from aluminium and plastic. Its integrated LED gives 290 lumens of warm white light at 3000K from 3W, so there is no bulb to buy or change. A dark disc closes the top of the shade, and the light comes through its curved sides. A Li-ion battery runs it for 8 to 10 hours and takes 6 hours to charge, and a touch dimmer lets you bring it down as the evening goes on. It comes in two sizes: the 16.5cm size stands 16.5cm tall and 16cm across, and the 12.5cm size is lower and wider.

Because it needs no socket, it goes wherever the table is. It is rated IP44 and made for outdoor use as well as indoors, so it can sit on a garden table, a terrace or a patio through a summer evening and come back inside afterwards. Indoors, it suits a dining table, a bedside table or a low shelf in a living room. It is also a practical choice for restaurant and hotel terraces, where running a cable to every table is not an option, and with no flex to trip over, it moves easily from one spot to the next.

Oriol Llahona designed it as a rounded bowl on a straight-sided cylinder, and the aluminium and plastic construction is finished in silver on the base. It comes without a charger or USB cable, which are sold separately: the Single USB Lamp Charger with 1.5m Cable charges one lamp, and the 8 Port USB Lamp Charger with 1.5m Cables charges up to eight at once. For a long table, we like the two sizes set in a pair, the taller one beside the lower, wider one, or one at each end for an even spread of light.
