Description

The Paradise cushion is a 50 x 50cm square with a bird and flower print set across a soft grey ground. The face is a velvet-feel cotton, so the pile catches the light and gives the print a low sheen that shifts as you move past it. The design is drawn in the chinoiserie style, with a single perched bird among branching blooms in pinks, teals, chartreuse and deep browns, and the colour reads warm and busy against the calm grey behind it.

A cushion this size is the workhorse of a sofa or a bed, big enough to sit against and read the print at arm's length rather than squint at it. It suits a room that can carry colour, and the grey ground means it will settle beside plainer greys, soft pinks and warm neutrals without fighting them. Two or three together along a sofa back look considered; a single one on a bedroom chair does the same job with less commitment.

The cover is 100% cotton, which is why it feels soft and takes the print cleanly, and cotton is breathable and washes without fuss.
