Description

Hung from a track rather than a fixed ceiling point, this one puts light where the work actually is. The shade is 14cm across, and the drop adjusts over a wide span, so a run of them can be levelled together or staggered along a length of track. Neutral 4000K white comes from an integrated LED with its driver on board, and the beam is fairly narrow, laying down a defined circle of light rather than a soft wash.

We would use it over a kitchen island or a long dining table, where several heads sharing one track give you spacing that fixed ceiling points never will. It suits shop counters, studios and home offices just as well, anywhere you want brightness landing on a surface and less of it spilling around the room. The cooler tone keeps colours honest, which helps over a chopping board, a worktop or a desk. Control is simple on and off; this is not a dimming fitting, so if you want the level to drop in the evening, plan for lamps elsewhere in the room.

The white finish keeps the head quiet against a pale ceiling, where the black version instead reads as a deliberate row of dark shapes. Wipe it over with a dry cloth when you dust, working with the power off and the head cool, and keep sprays and solvents away from the finish. The 12.5W LED is sealed into the head, so there is no lamp to change across its life and nothing to match up when you buy. It carries a three year warranty.
