The Ovila is a 32cm ribbed glass table lamp built around an elongated oval shade in cognac-toned glass, set on a polished chrome base. The glass body features vertical ribbing that runs the full height of the shade, refracting light through the amber-toned material to cast a warm glow across nearby surfaces. A single E27 bulb inside the shade (sold separately) delivers up to 870lm output depending on the bulb chosen.

Designed for sideboards, nightstands, and styled shelving in living rooms, bedrooms and lounge areas, the Ovila functions as both decorative accent and ambient light source. The 20cm diameter footprint fits compact surface areas without dominating the space, while the 2.1kg weight provides stability on narrow shelves and bedside tables. The polished chrome base anchors the glass shade and conceals the cable entry point.

The vertical ribbing in the glass creates alternating bands of opacity and translucency when the lamp is lit, giving the cognac tone greater depth than a smooth shade would offer. What bulb does the Ovila take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 20W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to enhance the amber tone of the cognac glass.

Is the ribbed glass fragile?

The shade is made from moulded glass with vertical ribbing. It is more robust than hand-blown glass but should still be handled with care during cleaning and bulb changes. The 2.1kg weight indicates solid construction rather than thin pressed glass.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Ovila is suitable for indoor dry locations only. It is not protected against moisture and must not be installed in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any damp environments.

Does the lamp come with a bulb?

No. The E27 bulb is sold separately. The 870lm output rating listed in the specification indicates the maximum light output achievable with a compatible bulb up to 20W.
