Description

The Oslo is a 100cm round wall mirror with a hand-cast aluminium frame finished in textured matte gold. The frame's outer edge carries a subtle hammered texture that catches light at different angles, giving the surface a warmer, less industrial appearance than polished brass. At 101cm diameter the mirror suits larger walls above fireplaces, console tables, sofas and in hallways where a single round mirror can anchor the space without additional decoration.

Designed for residential interiors where a metallic accent is needed without high-polish reflections, the Oslo works in contemporary, mid-century and transitional schemes. The matte gold finish pairs with warm-toned timber furniture, grey upholstery and neutral walls without competing for attention. The 7cm frame depth projects slightly from the wall, creating a shadow line that defines the mirror's edge when lit from above or from a nearby window.

The hand-cast aluminium frame keeps the weight at 17.2kg — lighter than a solid brass or steel equivalent of the same size — but still requires secure wall fixings into masonry or timber studs. The frame's texture is consistent across the circumference but shows slight variation between individual mirrors due to the hand-casting process, so no two Oslo mirrors are identical in surface detail.

Frequently Asked

What wall fixings are needed?

At 17.2kg the Oslo requires secure wall fixings into masonry or timber studs. Use two heavy-duty mirror fixings or D-rings rated to at least 20kg each, fixed into wall plugs suitable for the wall construction. Plasterboard-only fixings are not sufficient.

What's the difference between matte gold and polished brass?

Matte gold has a low-sheen, brushed surface that diffuses reflections and appears warmer and less metallic under room lighting. Polished brass is reflective and mirror-like, with a bright yellow tone. The Oslo's matte finish suits interiors where a metal accent is wanted without high-contrast reflections.

Does the texture vary between mirrors?

Yes. The frame is hand-cast in aluminium, so the hammered texture pattern differs slightly between individual mirrors. This is a feature of the hand-casting process, not a defect.

Can it be hung in a bathroom?

The Oslo is designed for dry residential interiors. In bathrooms with good ventilation and no direct water exposure it may be acceptable, but prolonged exposure to humidity can affect the matte gold finish over time. For high-moisture bathrooms a mirror with a sealed or lacquered frame is more suitable.
