Description

The Osiris is a 280mm industrial pendant built around a black wire mesh shade with a gold-painted interior, suspended on a black textile-sheathed cable from a matt black canopy. The mesh cage allows light from the E27 bulb (sold separately) to project through the grid pattern while the gold interior reflects warm tones back through the shade, creating contrast between the cooler black exterior and the warmer glow within.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and breakfast bars in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the pendant offers adjustable drop between 400mm and 1550mm, set during installation by shortening the cable run inside the canopy. The 280mm diameter gives the shade enough presence above a 900-1200mm wide island or table without dominating smaller dining spaces. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations.

The wire mesh construction weighs just 1kg including the canopy and cable, making it suitable for standard UK ceiling roses without additional support. The matt black finish on the mesh sits comfortably in industrial, mid-century and contemporary schemes, while the gold interior adds warmth when the light is switched on. Pair with a warm-white LED filament bulb to accentuate the mesh pattern and the gold reflection, or use a cooler LED for task lighting over work surfaces.

What bulb does it take?

The Osiris takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2700K to accentuate the gold interior and mesh shadow pattern.

Can the drop height be adjusted?

Yes. The textile cable allows adjustment between 400mm and 1550mm during installation. The cable is shortened inside the canopy and cannot be adjusted again without re-opening the ceiling rose.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations. It cannot be used in bathrooms, kitchens directly above sinks or hobs, or anywhere subject to moisture or steam.

What size space does it suit?

The 280mm diameter works above kitchen islands 900-1200mm wide, dining tables for 2-4 people, or breakfast bars. For larger islands or tables, consider clustering two or three Osiris pendants at staggered heights.
